Prepare your pitch

Before you go into a networking event, either in real life (IRL) or online, have your elevator pitch ready.

Write it out, memorize it, practice it. Keep it under two minutes. Make it easy to understand. What would you tell your neighbor? What would you tell a parent at your child’s school? Know your audience and pitch accordingly.
